Helping students in Indonesia prepare for online work
In the Fall of 2022 I took a series of courses with the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign where myself and other students studied and applied key learning design skills. Principle among these was completing the ADDIE process which included ideating a learning experience, researching needs, and creating a design document to support the project’s design, implementation and iteration.
Our project’s goal was to improve the onboarding experience for interior design interns joining online internships. Covid had just arrived earlier that year, and like everyone else on the planet we were grappling with how to adjust to our new reality. Using one of our team member’s places of employment (a design university in Indonesia) as our source of context, we developed a complete design document to guide the creation of a learning experience which would aid young interns in their first online internship experience.
